What is FL80R?
FL80R (short for "Floor 80") is a free browser-based puzzle & logic game. You start partway up an 80-floor building and solve one puzzle per floor to reach the top — riddles, math, hidden text, chases, and boss floors. It's a single continuous run with no saves and no checkpoints.
Is FL80R free?
Yes, completely free. No downloads, no accounts, no ads, no tracking. It runs in your browser at fl80r.party. Supporting it on Ko-fi is optional.
How do I play?
Open fl80r.party, press Enter (or hold anywhere on mobile) to begin, then read each floor's clue and solve it to climb. Type answers where prompted, find hidden text where it's camouflaged, and keep going until Floor 80.
Do I need an account or a download?
No. FL80R runs entirely in your browser — nothing to install, no sign-up. You can also add it to your home screen as an app, since it's a Progressive Web App (PWA).
Are there saves or checkpoints?
No — that's the point. FL80R is one continuous run with no saves and no checkpoints, so a wrong move can mean starting over. (A future mode, FL808R, adds checkpoints.)
What kinds of puzzles are there?
Hidden-text floors, typed riddles, math puzzles, chase floors, circuit/logic puzzles, memory floors, and boss floors. A cat boss guards every tenth floor, and Floor 80 is the fixed finale.
Why do I need a pen and paper?
Some floors are memory floors — they ask what your answer was several floors earlier. Writing things down as you climb is basically a survival item.
Are the puzzles the same every time?
No. Every new session (or page refresh) generates a fresh set of riddles, so no two runs are the same. Only the boss floors and Floor 80 are fixed.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. FL80R is mobile-friendly and installable as an app (PWA). On phones you hold anywhere to start instead of pressing Enter.
Can I play with friends or stream it?
Absolutely — it's designed for it. Take turns on each floor with friends, or stream it and let your audience shout answers and hunt for the hidden text.
What are FL808R and Floorless?
Upcoming modes on the same engine. FL808R stretches the tower to 808 floors with checkpoints and a leaderboard; Floorless is an endless, procedural climb with no zones, landmarks, or end. See the Modes section for more.
Is there music?
Yes — a main-screen theme loops on the intro and how-to screens. You can adjust the volume or mute it from the on-screen controls and Settings.
Who made FL80R?
FL80R is designed and directed by Alarkius Elvya Jay. It's open source (Apache-2.0) on GitHub.
How do I support it or report a bug?
FL80R is free, but you can tip on Ko-fi (tiers: Tower Visitor and FL80R Cat Tribute) and get listed as a Meowspporter. To report a bug or request a feature, open an issue on GitHub or use the Report a bug link in the game's Settings.
Still curious? The best answer is to just climb.
